Biography

Tarrah grew up in Durant, OK and set out on a higher education journey after graduating from high school. After moving to Norman, OK to study Speech-Language Pathology at OU, Tarrah graduated in 2016. This was followed by a focus on American Sign Language (ASL) here at USAO majoring in Deaf Education and Elementary Education, and graduating Fall 2019. After this, followed a career as a special education paraprofessional at the elementary level. During the 2020 COVID shutdown, Tarrah started studying for a master's online with SOSU. This also happened concurrently with a teaching career during the pandemic, focusing on elementary special education for two years, and early childhood special education for one year. After three years of experience in teaching, and obtaining an M.Ed. in 2022, Tarrah has returned to USAO as an Education Instructor and is excited to be here to help guide future educators. Tarrah's passion is educating others on the identification characteristics and appropriate teaching methods for students with disabilities.
