Starting in the fall of 2024, students at the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma can pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science. This program aims to equip students with the practical skills and foundational knowledge needed to excel in the fast-growing field of computer and information technology.

“We are thrilled to introduce this program that combines rigorous technical training with a broad-based liberal arts education,” said President Kayla Hale. “Our goal is to prepare students not only for immediate career opportunities, but also for lifelong learning and adaptation in an ever-evolving technological landscape."

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 14 percent growth in computer and information technology jobs from 2022 to 2032. Recognizing this demand, USAO’s computer science program will provide hands-on training, interdisciplinary education, and career preparation for various roles, including AI developers, data analysts, software engineers and cybersecurity specialists.
