USAO Athletics Celebrates Four Cornerstone Partners

Four local businesses have made significant commitments this year to bolster the Drover athletic programs. The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma has planned for the continuation and expansion of its major financial support structure through the Cornerstone Partnerships Program, allowing the department to substantially develop.
The Cornerstone Partners are:
- Chicken Express
- Standley Systems
- First National Bank and Trust
- 29th Street Dental Care
Standley Systems and Chicken Express have supported USAO Athletics for four consecutive years, while this marks the first year for both 29th Street Dental Care and First National Bank and Trust.
These generous contributions provide flexible funding for essential needs such as athletic equipment, facility upgrades, uniforms, and academic-support services for USAO student-athletes.
In return for their investment, Cornerstone partners receive a range of benefits, including opportunities for community outreach and multiple avenues to connect with broader university and community audiences.
“We’ve been here for quite some time – since 1892 – and we’ve always been committed to the city of Chickasha and to USAO,“ Stated Mike Van Sickle, Senior Vice President and Chief Experience Officer at The First National Bank and Trust Co. “We enjoy that we are able to give back and are able to help student athletes be able to have better experiences in their collegiate careers.”
USAO Athletic Director Mike Ross emphasized the critical role these local businesses play in the department’s success.
“The Cornerstone Partnerships are of major importance for our athletic department.” Quoted Ross. “It allows people in the community to directly affect multiple sports at once with one large gift; and without that support we wouldn’t be able to do the things that we’re doing right now.”
The renewal and growth of the Cornerstone Partnerships underscore the strong link between USAO and the Chickasha Community, directly supporting the development and competitive excellence of Drover Athletics.
“I hope this gives the Athletic Department the freedom to take things to the next level and support their athletes and coaches;” said Shelby Hurst, Director of Development. “to feel confident in making decisions that are good for the university long term, knowing that we have the support of these local businesses that are going to continue supporting us and help us meet our next goal.”
