Biography
Shaylee Chester is the Director of the Science & Arts Child Development Center housed on campus at Science & Arts. This program oversees 16, three and four-year-old students daily. Early Childhood Education majors are able to experience hands on, applicable learning while pursuing their degree through this program.
Alongside the Child Development Center, Shaylee is an instructor of early childhood education. Prior to joining the Science & Arts faculty she worked in Title 1 public schools in Oklahoma, teaching both third and pre-kindergarten grade levels.
She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum in Early Childhood Education from the University of Oklahoma.
Research, Presentations & Publications
Shaylee's research focuses on the development of young children. Brain development, diverse measures, and socioeconomic status are among the many focuses of which contribute to this development.
