Financial Aid Options

There are several types of aid programs administered by the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma's Financial Aid Office These programs are designed to supplement students’ and families’ personal resources in paying for the costs of their education. The primary aid programs are as follows:

scholarships

Most scholarships are based on academic achievement, talent, field of study, and/or financial need. Scholarships are gift assistance that do not have to be repaid.

Grants are a form of gift aid usually provided by federal and state resources. Grants are gift assistance that do not have to be repaid. The Federal Work-Study Program provides part-time employment to assist students in financing the costs of postsecondary education. Federal Work-Study is a type of self-help assistance that does not have to be repaid.

Student loans, both federal and private, are self-help assistance that must be repaid according to the terms of the loan, usually with interest.
