USAO welcomes Dr. Delton Gordon, housing operations director

The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma welcomes Dr. Delton Gordon to the Student Life team as the new housing operations director.
The housing operations director is responsible for shaping student experiences through effective management of housing services and programs. This includes supervising residence life coordinators and resident advisors, creating training initiatives, addressing student concerns, and supporting student wellbeing and safety by collaborating with campus resources on mental health and conflict resolution.
“The Student Life team is ecstatic to welcome Delton to USAO and we are so appreciative of everything he brings to the table. As the president of the Southwest Association of College and University Housing Officers, he brings a wealth of knowledge and connections to move residential life onward and upward. We are so fortunate to have him,” shared Dawn Brockman, dean of students.
Gordon last worked at Arkansas Tech University where he was the associate dean for residential life. Gordon is a proven student-focused, and team-oriented student affairs professional with a 23-year career demonstrating progressive experience and exceptional performance in developing student leaders, budgeting, project management, and managing a team.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to bring my vision and strategic leadership to the housing operations director position at USAO. I am confident that my skills in financial planning, facility management, and staff development will contribute to creating a welcoming and supportive community within the residence halls,” said Gordon.
Gordon holds a Ph.D. in Leadership with an Education Administration concentration, a Master of Science in Counselor Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Family Relations and Child Development.
