Let the Festival of Light lead you to USAO!

Holiday lights on campus.

The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma is a proud sponsor of the Chickasha Festival of Light. For decades, this attraction has provided holiday cheer right here in our college town. The top-10 light show will remain open until Dec. 31, 2023. When you schedule your trip, be sure to travel down the road to our decorated historic campus also.

While the Festival of Light serves as an escape for some, it is also a vital form of service for our Drovers. Every year, our Drover athletic teams volunteer with light set-ups and the night-to-night needs throughout the season. It has been a great connector between our campus and the community.

“The Festival of Light is something our students look forward to every year,” said USAO Athletic Director Mike Ross. “It is always a great way for our athletes to give back to the community while also enjoying such an awesome attraction right next to campus.”

The USAO softball and baseball teams have been hard at work helping with stringing lights, yardwork, gate maintenance and much more behind the scenes. Whenever you visit, you’re sure to see a smiling Drover face!

Get the most out of your trip to Chickasha by warming up in the Drover Fieldhouse after your walk in the park. Our USAO basketball teams have one more home game before the new year. The Drovers will host conference rival Texas Wesleyan University beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16.

“Having crowd involvement at our games is so important,” said Ross. “Seeing cheering fans in the stand adds another level for our players. We would love to invite you to come feel the Drover magic! It’s something that cannot be replicated.”
