In honor of President Feaver’s more than four decades of service to the institution, as well as in celebration of the inauguration of Dr. Kayla Hale as its next leader, the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma will host a Green & Gold Gala Sept 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City.

Individual tickets are $150 with tables of 10 available for $1,000 as well as additional sponsorship opportunities. The gala will include a cocktail hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7 p.m. A silent auction will also be held. Tickets can be purchased at usao.edu/gala. Cocktail attire is required.

“This event creates a special opportunity to celebrate President Feaver’s many years of service and leadership at USAO, while also enthusiastically welcoming President Hale as she takes the reins of our historic university,” said JP Audas, vice president for advancement and executive director of the USAO Foundation. “We have already seen a tremendous outpouring of support from all over the state, and I know that the energy will only increase as the gala approaches!”

Dr. John Feaver joined the faculty at USAO in 1980. A mainstay in the university’s required interdisciplinary studies program for a number of years, Feaver quickly made his mark as an administrator as well, serving as departmental and division chair in the social sciences before being named vice president for academic affairs in 1988. He was inaugurated the university’s 12th president in 2000, overseeing unprecedented growth in the school’s academic and athletics programs, classroom and housing facilities, and community partnerships among many other achievements.

Inaugurated as Feaver’s successor on Aug. 1, Dr. Kayla Hale comes to USAO from The University of Tulsa, where she served for more than 25 years, most recently as the vice president for advancement and alumni engagement. Having studied communication at USAO as an undergraduate, Hale is well-acquainted with the institution’s distinctive statewide mission, as well as its historic reputation for accessibility, affordability, inclusivity and exceptional graduates.

The Green & Gold Gala is generously sponsored by First National Bank and Trust, Town's End Stillhouse & Grill and CMS Willbrook, all local businesses proud to give back to USAO.
