Celebrate the spooky season at the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma’s Art Wrecker Studio. Located in downtown Chickasha, the gallery will host a “Haunted Hotel,” featuring bizarre environments, elaborate costumes and lots of scares.

The haunted house will be open for one night only on Oct. 29 from 7–10 p.m. Admission is $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Tickets may be purchased online at usao.edu/hauntedhouse.

“We have actual pieces of the historic Alpine Hotel that used to be a focal point of the old downtown here, so we are essentially bring it back from the dead this year,” said Jordan Vinyard, dean of the school of visual and performing arts, associate professor of art and gallery director. “Our Halloween events are always an incredible way to showcase the creativity that USAO nurtures, and provide a fun way for our community to celebrate this spooky season!”

More than 40 current USAO students, alumni and faculty members constructed the strange environments and elaborate costumes for the haunted house. Now an annual event, Art Wrecker Studio’s Halloween-themed exhibitions invite the community to participate in the spectacle, performance and multimedia experiences that this professional gallery allows USAO to hold.

Additional activities at Art Wrecker have included showcases of film and performance, public art, installations, interactive and multimedia works, runways and workshops.
