Kyle Reid and The Low Swinging Chariots continue the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Alumni Association’s Listen Local at The Greek series July 27 at 7:30 p.m. These free, family-friendly summer concerts are held at the Greek Theatre on the USAO campus.

“Our first Listen Local concert was a great success and we know that Kyle will help us continue it with his fantastic tunes,” said Misti McClellan, director of alumni development. “We’re so excited to welcome everyone to campus and spend an evening with your family, friends and some great music.”

Reid leads his band in a joyful revelry of original swing tunes, New Orleans and Gypsy jazz standards, as well as classic Western Swing. Reid’s original material sounds at once familiar, yet new and exciting. The group’s repertoire of classic standards, along with the sonorous quality of Reid’s voice and the hot accents of the rhythm and brass sections, create a superb balance of sound.

Based out of Norman, Reid has a long and eclectic career as a singer, songwriter, producer and sideman. His band is composed of accomplished, nationally-recognized local musicians all hand-picked for their prowess, creativity and camaraderie.
