Drover softball recently announced the newest addition to the coaching staff. After connecting through OKC Spark, Jadyn Wallis has welcomed Chickasha native Lynnsie Elam-Phillips as a volunteer assistant coach.

“Lynnsie has been a great addition to the USAO coaching staff,” said Wallis. “Most importantly, she is a great person to bring into the program. But she also brings a lot of knowledge to our hitters and catchers.”

Elam-Phillips is no stranger to the range. She grew up playing just across town at Chickasha High School. She racked up several individual awards while helping lead the CHS softball program to four district championships, three regional titles and two state championships during her high school career.

Her talent led her to Norman where she continued to influence the game at the collegiate level. Elam-Phillips played at the University of Oklahoma from 2018-22. Her collegiate career consisted of two NCAA World Series titles as a Sooner. Her success on the field kept her softball dreams alive post-college as she was signed to Oklahoma City Spark, a professional softball team.

In her first pro season, Elam-Phillips had a few pieces of home with her. USAO Head coach Jadyn Wallis was signed to the Spark coaching staff. Additionally, opposite on the field of Elam-Phillips was the legendary Drover pitcher Emily Cerny. The three had more in common than their love for softball, leading Elam-Phillips to seek out coaching opportunities to stay connected to Wallis and Cerny.

Now, the Drover softball program boasts the best of the best with 2018 World Series champion Dakota Clouse, repeat NAIA Pitcher of the Year Emily Cerny, dominate head coach Jadyn Wallis and now NCAA World Series champion Lynnsie Elam-Phillips leading the intensely successful program.

Since winning the program’s first title in 2018, Drover softball has become a national sensation. The team has clinched four national tournament appearances, an SAC regular-season title and an SAC tournament title. The consistent success has made USAO softball a prime choice for college softball recruits.
