CHICKASHA (May 13, 2025) — The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma has announced a partnership
with TimelyCare, a 24/7/365 telehealth support platform, to provide mental health
services to its students.
The partnership follows an initiative by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education
to fund the use of TimelyCare at every state public university in support of the growing
mental and physical health needs of Oklahoma college students.
USAO students will have access to the platform’s services, including integrated crisis
services (such as on-demand medical and on-demand counseling) and by-appointment medical
and counseling services, as well as basic needs support and self-care content. Starting
fall 2025, these services can be scheduled or initiated via web or the free TimelyCare
app.
“At USAO, we prioritize our students’ success. That means prioritizing their well-being,
too,” said Dawn Reitan-Brockman, dean of students. “TimelyCare helps us meet them
where they’re at by providing on-demand resources that fit into even the busiest schedules.”
TimelyCare serves over 400 universities across the U.S. and has provided care to over
2.3 million college students since its founding in 2017. It has received recognition
within the Dallas Morning News Top 100 Places to Work, Dallas Innovates 2024 Awards
and MedTech Breakthrough Awards.
USAO hired full-time Licensed Professional Counselor Kristi Trapp in December. Additionally,
Rachel Drechsler was approved to provide counseling services this April as an LPC-Candidate.
Trapp and Drechsler will continue to manage USAO’s mental health resources and provide
in-person counseling to students, faculty and staff. Individuals at USAO interested
in counseling services should contact counseling@usao.edu.
