The Hominy, Okla., native gradated in 1952 with her degree in elementary education and after more than 30 years teaching the basic principles of learning to children across the country, she then taught the world about healthy living through the philosophy of Natural Hygiene through her book, Blueprint for Health. Lee first gained experience in the world of health as a Hospital Corps WAVE in the United States Navy from 1945-46. After her discharge, Lee studied at the University of Tulsa and at the University of California in Los Angeles until a job led her to Japan for 18 months. She studied evenings at Sophia University in Tokyo and was an English teacher at Tokyo University in 1950. Upon her return to the U.S., Lee enrolled and graduated from OCW. She began her long career in education as an elementary school teacher and over the next 20 years would teach in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Alaska, Virginia and Germany. She also served as Principal from 1972-1987 at several schools in Virginia. In 1972, she earned her Master’s in administration and supervision from Longwood College in Farmville, Va., and 15 years later earned her Ph.D in Educational Leadership from NOVA Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. It was in 1986 that Lee first read about Natural Hygiene. She began putting the philosophy to work in her life, researching, testing and practicing the theories of Natural Hygiene. From this research, Lee published her book, Blueprint for Health, in 1995.
