On most college campus, tailgate parties center around fall football games, but at USAO, a spring tailgate will precede the Emerson-Wier Liberal Arts Symposium.
All alumni and a guest are invited to the Spring Alumni Tailgate Party on Thursday, March 13 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Stevens Alumni House. The barbeque meal is free. Anyone planning to attend is asked to RSVP by March 7 to 405-574-1290 or at email@example.com.
Nobel Prize winner Dr. Eric Kandel will be the keynote speaker at the Symposium at 7:30 p.m. in Te Ata Auditorium. Kandel is also scheduled to participate in a panel discussion examining the intersection between science and the humanities that begins earlier in the day at 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
“The tailgate in the fall was a great success; so we wanted to do it again,” said Eric Feuerborn, director of Alumni Development at USAO. “Come, eat and visit with us – even if you don’t plan to attend the Symposium.”
In addition to a meal, participants also will receive an update on the many projects around the USAO campus. “We are excited about all the good things that are happening at USAO. Our alumni are playing a very big role in that progress.
“We also are planning an evening event for Montmartre and Droverstock on April 3 – so mark your calendars now."
