Dr. Gary Gallagher is the John L. Nau III Professor in the History of the American Civil War at the University of Virginia where he has taught since 1998. He has written and edited numerous books which have garnered him several awards. Most importantly, he has won several teaching awards including the Distinguished Teaching Professorship.

USAO's annual Montmartre, a judged sidewalk chalk art festival, is held each year in conjunction with the USAO Scholastic Meet and Droverstock Music Festival on the first Thursday of April. Together, the events make up the Spring Triad.

Come be a part of USAO tradition! Droverstock Music Festival is the university’s annual music festival featuring live music, inflatables, local and area vendors and a host of college students having a great time. Droverstock takes place in the oval, the heart of USAO. Droverstock is a free event for USAO students.
