Named Scholarships
The named scholarship program honors alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the college with a lasting legacy. More than 100 scholarships were established by the generosity of alumni and friends, providing support for USAO students from many different majors and backgrounds.
Mo Gregg Anderson Scholarship
Preference will be given to a junior or senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA, majoring in one of the following: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Deaf Education, or Speech Language Pathology.
Ruth Ball Gardner Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a sophomore or junior Communications major who has at least a 3.0 GPA.
Flavia Brown Bare Scholarship
Preference will be given to a student in the Arts and Humanities who demonstrates financial need.
Dr. Kathleen Black Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a Native American woman, preferably an incoming freshman, and can be renewed until she graduates.
Kathryn Knisley Bond Scholarship
Preference is to be given to a Music major.
Dr. Bonnie Bell Butler Buchanan Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded in the basis of need and proven ability as evidenced by grades; recipient must also be single.
Burruss Family Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship should be a student working his/her way through school, who is of good character.
Zelma Ball Burruss Scholarship
This awarding of this scholarship will be based on need.
Mildred Matthew Chambless Family Scholarship
Scholarship prefers females, 35 years or older, of any major.
Ralph L. Cobb Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in Business.
Conover Sisters Scholarship
Preference is given to USAO students who are female American Indian, preferably an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe.
Craig Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a junior or senior taking a minimum of 15 credit hours, based on need.
Dr. Brenda Stanfill Cranmer Scholarship
This scholarship is to be based on need, with preference given to Deaf Education majors.
Shirley Mitchell Duckwall Scholarship
This scholarship is for a student who wishes to be an elementary school teacher, majoring in Elementary Education.
Lorraine Wooster Eck Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for a Music Education major, to be selected by the Alumni Scholarship Committee or the Fine Arts Division.
Margaret A. Elliot Scholarship
This award will go to a junior or senior English major with preference towards an interest in British Literature and/or Poetry.
Virginia Embree Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a female student.
Kathryn Duncan Empie Scholarship
This scholarship is to be given to an Oklahoma student in the field of Speech-Language Pathology.
Loucile Bennett Evans Scholarship
This scholarship is to be given to a student(s) majoring in art, picked by the Art Department Head. The recipient must be a student demonstrating a talent for art. If there is no longer an Art Department, a student of English or a Teaching major shall receive this scholarship.
Dr. Samuel W. Evans Scholarship
This Scholarship is to be given to a junior or senior enrolled in the Teacher Education program.
Fay Craddock Finley Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship will be a student majoring in Music.
Janis Marsh Fitzgerald Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship will be a student majoring in Music.
Barbara Forsythe Cunningham Scholarship
The recipient of this award should be a junior or senior majoring in English, English Education, or Communications.
Hazel Frost Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a Home Economics major. If there is no program, it is to be awarded on the basis of need.
Judy Lee Brandstatt Galer Scholarship
This scholarship is unrestricted.
Irene Stevens Gibbons Scholarship

Annie Rebecca Minshew Gillis Scholarship
The scholarship is for a student majoring in English.
Calvin Favorite Good Scholarship
This scholarship gives preference to a student majoring in English.
Isaac & Mary Good Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship will be a student majoring in Art.
Jacob Calvin & Belle Leonard Good Scholarship
A student majoring in English is eligible for this scholarship.
Leonard Phelps & Yoshie Good Scholarship
Preference will be given to English majors who plan to pursue graduate studies.
Anne Jones Griffin Scholarship
Scholarship is intended to go to an Art, Math, or Music Education major.
Lois Gillis Hall Scholarship

Ann Marie Hooper Harrison Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in the Fine Arts.

This scholarship is to assist a female student who might otherwise not be able to continue her education.
Diana Wight Hill Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior student needing financial assistance.
Phyllis E. Hillery Scholarship
This scholarship will be given to a junior or senior. First preference is given to a member of a federally recognized tribe. Secondary preference is for a Biology or Pre-Physical Therapy major.
Lynda Hanna Holding Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to an Elementary Education major.
Mark Walter Howery Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to an American man born of American parents.
Harold & Kay Jackson Scholarship
The scholarship preference is for students majoring in Education.
Phyllis June O’Dell James Scholarship
This need-based scholarship is intended to assist an Early Childhood Education major.
Marjorie Foncannon Johnson Scholarship
This scholarship is unrestricted.
Dr. Krista Jones Scholarship
Preference will be given to a student from an underrepresented or minority backgrounds, or a Public Policy major. If nothing else, scholarship will be awarded based on need.

Dao Xian Lim Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship should be majoring in Math, Physics, or Business.
Bernadene Protzman Lovell Scholarship
This scholarship is to be given to a student majoring in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Preferably someone from Caddo or Grady County.
Loyal Daughters of OCW Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a Senior.
Mid-Year Reunion Scholarship
This scholarship should be awarded to a junior or senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA majoring in one of the following: Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Deaf Education, or Speech Pathology.
Marion Letha Melton Scholarship
Established as an unrestricted scholarship with first preference given to students from Haileyville, Oklahoma.
Dr. Irene Mitchell Scholarship
The scholarship is for students who have high educational goals and who maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Judy Roberts Moreland Scholarship
This scholarship is unrestricted, but first preference will be given to Music majors.
Johnny L. Morgan Sr. Scholarship
Scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in Theatre or English.
Eileen Smith Mosley Scholarship
This scholarship is to be presented to a junior or senior student needing financial assistance to complete his/her degree.
Newman-Hill Scholarship
Scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in Drama/Theatre.
Norman Lunch Bunch Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship will be a USAO student, including but not limited to transfer students, who demonstrates financial need.
Merenda O’Bar Scholarship
First preference for this scholarship will be given to a student majoring in Early Childhood Education, then Elementary Education.
OCLA Scholarship
The scholarship is given to students majoring in one of the fine arts or in social sciences.
Patricia Cooper Percy Scholarship
This scholarship should be awarded on the basis of need with preference given to a Music major.
Barbara Morris Ply Scholarship
This scholarship should be awarded to a physical education major with first preference given to females.
Paulette Braden Pogue Scholarship
Established for a junior or senior planning to teach.
Oliver Bennett Powers Scholarship
This scholarship is to be given to a Music Education major needing financial assistance.
Lauraleene Baxter Price Scholarship
Eligible students include any that can demonstrate financial need, with preference given to Science majors.
Kathryn Lois Quattlebaum & Class of 1964 Scholarship
This scholarship was established by her classmates for a young woman who might not otherwise be afforded the opportunity of a quality education.
Joan Hughes Rawlings Scholarship
This scholarship is available to assist an aspiring young student wanting to receive a college education at USAO and needing financial assistance.

The recipient of this scholarship should be a junior or senior majoring in either Art or Science.
David H. Vaughn Scholarship
This scholarship was established to assist students wishing to study abroad in Europe.
Adda Mitchell Voigt Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a student majoring in Elementary Education, with preference given to a student who grew up on a farm.
Fred Voigt Award for Excellence in Science
This award will go to a junior or senior who is outstanding in Science.

This scholarship is to be awarded to someone who loves music, is a hard worker, and just needs a little help.
Nance Foules Wier Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a female student needing financial assistance. She must be a diligent student in Creative Writing or English Education.
Laura S. Wijkowski Scholarship
Requirements for this scholarship are a demonstration of financial need.
